APOLIS.

You wouldn't usually picture these two images together and philanthropy is not what comes to mind when we think fashion. But Apolis is combining the two all while earning the respect of the fashion industry. The Parton brothers once traveled the world with their parents navigating through non profits and now their well designed tote is changing lives in Jinja, Uganda. Remarkable and commendable. For the first time in quite awhile I'm excited about the future of the socially responsible and sustainable market.

The Fleabag and Mixed Feelings.

It's beautiful and I love it, like REALLY love it. I deeply appreciate the consciousness in the details-- organic cotton/hemp canvas, vegetable tanned leather, water-based ink, handmade in New York-- but am I alone in thinking that $465 is more than indulgent for an Eco item? How much is too much for a 'green' product? Where do you draw your line?

"Organic Giraffe was launched by two friends, graphic designer extraordinaire Pina Iannuzzi and fashion designer Emily Wallach of Emily by Emily handbags, while chatting over a plate of toast and peanut butter. Both felt it was time to take organic style to a whole new level using elements from their respective areas of expertise. Organic Giraffe embodies a cool contemporary style and Eco friendly piece of mind.
